Texas Red - Phase 1: The Bugpocalypse Begins

Welcome to the first-ever barely functioning build of Texas Red—a post-apocalyptic horror experience so early in development that even Texas Red himself doesn’t know what’s going on.

What’s the story?

Good question. Nobody knows. Probably not even me. All we have so far is that you're Texas Red, an old ranger with nothing left to lose. The world is in ruins, his family is long gone, and he’s on one last mission. What mission? That’s for later. Right now, just follow the fires and reach the cross.

What can you do?

  • Walk. Slowly.
  • Follow fires like a very determined moth.
  • Reach the cross and feel a vague sense of accomplishment.
  • Wonder why everything feels so unfinished (because it is).

What’s not working?

  • Everything, mostly.
  • The AI is either too smart or too dumb, no in-between.
  • The environment is about as polished as a rusty can.
  • Lore? It exists in theory.

This is just the foundation of what will eventually be a full game. Right now, it’s held together by hope, duct tape, and a few questionable coding decisions. Play at your own risk.
